Das Packard Bell dot.a ist ein neues 11,6-Zoll-Notebook aus dem Hause Acer, das unter der vor allem in den Beneluxländern aktiven Tochter angeboten wird. Nachdem das System kürzlich auf einem AMD-Event in Cannes erstmals zu sehen war, wurde das Packard Bell dot.a nun offiziell vorgestellt. Wie bereits berichtet, steckt unter der Haube ein AMD Athlon Neo K125 Prozessor mit einem Rechenkern und 1,7 GHz Taktrate.

Darüber hinaus sind auch Modelle mit AMD Athlon Neo K325 Dual Core 1,3 GHz CPU und AMD V105 Single Core 1,2 GHz Prozessor geplant. In jedem Fall kommt die ATI Radeon HD 4225 Grafiklösung zum Einsatz, die HD-Videos per HDMI auf hochauflösende Displays bringen kann. Der Hersteller verspricht zudem bis zu 4 GB RAM und 640 GB Festplattenkapazität und eine Laufzeit von 7 Stunden mit dem 6-Zellen-Akku. Den Einstiegspreis gibt Packard Bell mit 399 britischen Pfund an, was umgerechnet aktuell heftigen 465 Euro entspricht.
